A few words from Bill...
Hello - my name is Bill McGinn, founder and owner of The Master's Construction Co., began working in Marine Construction back in 1975. With little experience in the field, I helped Rod Hall build Tega Cay Marina in one summer.
After returning to Clemson University to complete my degree in Recreation & Parks Administration (1975-1977), I again worked for Rod. I managed both Tega Cay and Lake Wylie Marinas, but an inside desk job was not for me! In 1983, after building piers and docks with Rod for about 5 years, I started his own business, The Construction Company.
From the start, the only advertisement (other than a Yellow Page listing) has been by word-of-mouth; referrals by satisfied customers. Elwin (Monk) Case was my first customer. Many others, such as Wayne Patrick, Peggy Payne & Fred Hart, have called again over the years to have additional work done by me and my company. People who have seen the quality work of The Construction Co., or who knew me to be a conscientious person, have sent their friends and family members my way when they needed a dock built or related marine construction services. Sometimes work has been done for several different owners of the same property - each owner passing along the name & number to the new owner! I have always been, and continue to be very grateful for the encouragement and support from all these folks. That's why AND how I stay in business!
I am also very grateful to God - especially for two events back in 1999. Early in that year, I realized that this business wasn't really "mine". Without the Lord, it could not exist. I made a commitment to follow God's leading and to try even harder to represent Him with the best possible craftsmanship & personal integrity I could provide my customers. To make this "change in ownership" official (and to remind us all or our focus), I renamed the business The Master's Construction Company.
A few years back, Mary McGinn (my wife) resigned from her job as a teacher and began managing the office. She's the organizer and the idea person on the team. The rest of the crew are skilled craftsmen, in their own right, and make the difference out there every workday. Each and every one of us is dedicated to providing excellent workmanship and personal customer service.
We hope to be blessed with the opportunity to serve you soon. Which piece of your "home on the lake" dream can we help make come true?
